Happenings In The Field, Issue No. 2

Alianza Coalition is excited to share some great news—their collective efforts are truly making an impact! Alianza engaged parents, students and residents with surveys and interviews to voice the changes they would like to see happen in the community. Incorporating all feedback, Alianza and other community partners developed a joint statement on county-level needs around behavioral health and prevention services.

The joint statement and public comments submitted to the Mecklenburg County Behavioral Health Strategic Plan were not only well received but many of the changes they advocated for have been incorporated into the final plan. This is a meaningful step forward. Most recently, they held a meeting with the County at the Latin American Coalition.  During the meeting, partners collaborated on specific ways to strengthen behavioral health services in their community.
